Standby Not Working

When I put my system into standby, it turns off the monitor, and I can hear the hard disks stop spinning as well, but my case fans and everything else keep going... This is a recent problem, what's going on? I have the Asus P4C800 Deluxe mobo, on Windows XP Home SP1
 
ANy ideas?

It worked fine until today... Why aren't any of the fans turning off? All it's doing is turning off HDs and monitor...
 
I went into my BIOS and changed my Standby Mode from Auto to S3.... it seems as if windows was just doing S1. Anyways, by BIOS forcing S3, it works fine now. Although I wonder what changed in windows?
 
On a related issue, on my comp, no matter if I set bios to S1 or S3, Standby causes the computer to be turned off. anyone have an idea about that?
