standby mode question...

hi, i was wondering why there is a 30 second or so delay before connecting to my network when i bring my computer out of standby mode? is there a way to connect faster?

If you have the option in Advanced Power Management, try telling the system not to turn off the network adapter to save power.
Also, using a static address will save you having to wait for the DHCP server to assign an address.
