Standby mode KILLED my 6600 PCI-E

So I have a Logitech Elite Keyboard, and I was reaching for the Mute button, I accidentally pressed the Sleep button. Waited a few seconds for it to sink in, then when I took it out of Standby mode, the video didn't come back

did u try a restart? u sure that it went out of standby? sure that the cable didn't disconnect? sure that the card did comeout of the slot? i just guessing in the cold. did u check all that?
try a cold restart and maybe disconnect the computer for a while. is everything spinning?

My 6800Ultra used to artifact after coming out of standby.
I dont why it would do that, or why would ur card die cause of it.

I suppose it could die if someone turned it off in the middle of a game at high temperatures, and all the heat built up once the fans stopped. But that's probably farcical nonsense at best

i thought i nearly killed my 6800GT in stand by mode....for some reason the fan turned off when in stand by and it got awful toasty!
