i remember on my old computer, when i push the standy by button, the whole system and the monitor would shutdown to rest as if it was never on.

but now, on my new computer, when i push the standy button, only the monitor turns off but the system is still on, is it possible to get the standby working like my old system?
if so, help me out! many thanks.

i am running a soyo dragon motherboard. the motherboard has the most up to date bios from soyousa.com.

Check in Control Panel---->Power Options---->Advanced .
Your power button options are in there....change to Stand-By.

they have been set to standby already, what i am trying to say that when i set my computer to standy, only my monitor shuts off but the system is still on (still humming with the fans). on my old computer, i was able to set it to a standby mode in which the system shuts down completely and the monitor goes off also, and resume it by moving the mouse. im not sure but i think it is something in the bios, but im afraid of changing the bios.
