Standard 15 pin RGB connection okay for LCD's?

Hi all,

Are standard 15 Pins RGB connections okay for a LCD screen ???

Is their that much difference between DVI???

Generally speaking, the bigger the screen the bigger the difference - but there are panel-to-panel variations too.

If you have a 15.1" LCD, DVI looks better, but there isn't much difference. At 17"+, I would definitely try to use DVI. Take a look at this comparison, for example.

the vga connection is analog, the LCD is digital, so basically, your video card converts the computer's digital signal into analog for the vga.. then the ADC of the LCD converts the analog back to digital for the display...

it can be as bad as a highly compressed jpeg because of the loss of data when going from digital to analog to digital... on better LCDs, this is fine, not perfect, but on bad LCDs, it sucks.

DVI is a digital interface, it'd be best.
