Have you clean the glass inside out of scanner? I noticed my canon canoscan 4200f glass with dust inside i don't want to risk take everything part out and lose the warranty.

I've taken my Epson apart and cleaned the inside of the glass - no problemo. You may need to use the same stuff that is guaranteed to remove the plasticizer from upholstery that collects on the inside of car windshields. Those plasticizers just seem to smear with regular glass cleaners. If it's just dust, that won't be a problem for a vacuum to deal with.

I use to clean glass from old Microtek scanner several years ago but now with Canon Canoscan it is kinda new I guess I will try it.
