Stand Up Comedy?

Anyone ever try and actually do any stand up comedy. I've done acting and stuff just wondering if anyone has tried. there is no open mic nights for it around here or else I might have given it a try.

I can crack jokes if the opportunity comes up... But just making stuff up like that, no thanks. I'm really shy when it comes to speaking in front of people like that.

I always wanted to give it a try, but I don't think I can come up with 5+ minutes of good material.

I could never stand in front of an audience, I am way too scared.
