Hey all, let's see if we can get this problem fixed. First off, my specs:
Windows XP SP3
abit IP35-E
E2200
2GB Ram
74GB Raptor
160GB Hitachi
7900GT
Now here's the problem. I put my comp on standby all the time and go days without a restart. For a while now I've occasionally gotten this problem that when I wake up from standby programs will lock up and cause all sorts of weird problems. For example, I'll wake up from standby, go on firefox for a few minutes, and completely at random the program will lock up. This isn't just related to firefox, many other programs and games do this too. When this does happen the system says that the network cable and 1394 connection (which I don't have on this mobo) have been disconnected. Also, oddly enough, when I click start, turn off computer, the options will not appear whatsoever. This is pretty frustrating because it means I have to do a hard shutdown or restart.
This doesn't happen often. I usually wake the comp up once or twice a day and if I had to guess this problem occurs around 15% of the time. However, I have had this problem over the course of 3+ windows reinstalls. This also happened with my old proc and mobo.
So what's up with this? Anybody else heard of any problem like this? Please and thank you for the help, I appreciate it very much!
