I was using stamps.com and was about to buy some postage, but then my light bulb came on.
I use approx $10 a month in postage, if I pay for the service instead of buying stamps my cost for service is 50% of my usage, not to mention printer ink/toner.

Katka, what is the purpose of stamps.com? I watched their commercials when it first came out and couldn't think of any good reason for a typical person to pay for their service. If you mail a lot of stuff, go to shop.usps.com and have them place a nice roll of stamps conveniently in your mailbox tomorrow morning. No time wasted, no going to the post office, etc.

The most laughable is the printing of overnight stamps. I can see it now: it is 4 pm and you need to send your customer a mailing by the next morning. You pay extra for this printing service, but then you have to go down to the post office anyways since the postman has already left your building!

I could see a small percent of business having some benefit: use fewer 1 cent stamps if you have oddly sized mailings.

I don't see a point in using stamps.com for personal use unless you're an eBay whore or something who's time is far far too valuable. It saves maybe 10-20 minutes assuming lines are really long and you have alot of packages.

Other than that, I'd rather just use supplies.usps.gov nab some supplies and make the short drive to the post office.
