"Stalking" people

Anyone ever find the inclination to look up people's presence on the internet?

The only tools I really know of what to do is to google their name, or their screen name if I have it. Friendster is also a good way to dig up info with their name or email..anyone have any other methods?

Just search for directory services (switchboard). You can look up phone numbers, and do reverse lookups also. There is an address verions of this as well.

I detected a wireless connection that is unencrypted when I moved to my new apartment. Immediately I connected to it and my itune shows all her songs and her name on there. Her information was just one google search away.

I was talking to a girl online once.. she gave me her phone number so I could call so I looked up her address and told her I was gonna come visit instead. I made it clear that I was joking and showed her the site I used but I don't think she much cared for the joke 😛 the next day she was like "I think we got off on the wrong foot." I asked what she was talking about and she told me that the reverse lookup scared her, and we haven't really talked since... good times.
