Stalker Clear Sky Glitches

1) With my specs below, the game will not allow me to modify the DX10 graphical settings as shown in the screenshot. The screenshot has the two black bars on it because I had to set Stalker to Window Mode and then Alt-Tab out before I could take a screenshot and paste it into Paint. Still, the options are darkened where I cannot modify them at all. In this screenshot you can see that I have the normal settings on maximum, yet the DX10 settings are still blackened out.

Any help with this is more than appreciated as I hate having the PC I have and not being able to view this game to its full potential.

2) The real problem I am having aside from the numerous CTDs is one major CTD that will not allow me to leave the Garbage anymore. I have already met with Freedom and Duty as well as completed their side-quests. The current objective I have now is to visit a scientist in Yantar. Here is where the glitch begins... When I tried going back to Agroprom, the location would load correctly and I would appear in the area, everything would start loading (people, enemies, etc.), and then the game would crash. I tried getting into Agroprom from the Garbage from both routes and both times it resulted in the same CTD. So I went back and tried to have a guide take me there. When I tried that method, rather than the loading screen appearing, I (the character) would teleport to an open field. I couldn't move, I couldn't access my inventory, I couldn't even bring up the menu. I had to force the game to close through the Task Manager. At that point, I tried using a guide to take me back to Cordon and Dark Valley, both of which yielded the same result of me stuck in a meadow (testing field?).

At this point, I decided to enter Yantar through the SoC route - through the Duty Base (SoC) north of Garbage. I eventually ended up in the Red Forest and realized that I cannot get to Yantar that way. So I am stuck back in Garbage fighting the endless swarms of Bandits - regardless of how many I kill, more appear (which is just getting annoying).

The error code I get when I enter Agroprom is as follows "xrEngine.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "C:\Program Files (x86)\Deep Silver\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky\bin\xrCore.dll" at 0023:00ECBA94, xrDebug::backend()+164 byte(s)"

3) A minor glitch, but still annoying nonetheless. In Garbage at the Flea Market with the Stalkers, there are two Traders - one that sells minor items during the day, and one who supposedly sells the "bigger things" at night. The only problem is, the guy sleeps all night and only awakens to fight off the Bandits that relentlessly attack us. No matter how long he sleeps or what time of day or night it is, he says the same thing and will not sell me anything else. With my aforementioned problem above, he is apparently the only one who I can sell my high-priced weapons to that I have been holding for quite some time.

4) Probably not a glitch, but I would like to know if I ever get my money back after I follow Fang to the Flea Market and have the Bandits steal all of my money and gear. Granted, after the first time I went in there, they stole everything I had, so I reloaded my old save and dropped everything on the ground before I went in the basement, so they only took my money. Seeing as how all of the armor is extremely pricey, I had been saving for a very long time since I needed new armor (dieing in a few hits on Hard gets very annoying as does not being able to use Artifacts). Now that I lost all of my money, getting new armor will take even longer. However, I did get an upgraded Sunrise Suit for helping some Stalkers in Agroprom kill zombies. That should tide me over, but still... Losing 22,000+ is depressing considering I could have used it all on upgrading my gear rather than handing it over to Bandits.

Sorry this is so long, but I won't have the Internet past tomorrow and I need to get everything cleared up in one fell swoop.

Any information on any of this is greatly appreciated.

See the option that says "Render"? Switch that to DX10 if you want to run in DX10 mode.

As for your other issues, sounds like you are playing the game unpatched. Asside from the money issue that is, there is no way to get that back.

That option was not available until I patched the game. Until tonight, I did not have the Internet available to me, so I was unable to download any patches. Thanks for the heads up as I probably would not have noticed that even after I patched the game.

Thanks a lot. I shall see if I still crash when exiting Garbage now that the game has been fully patched. I shall also see how my PC fares against this game fully maxed in DX10 mode...

UPDATE

"Saved Game Version Does Not Match Game Version"

Do I have to restart my game to play, or is there a way to convert the saved games to the patched version?

Huh, the DX10.1 mode was added in a patch, but DX10 mode was part of the game from the start. Perhaps you just overlooked the option?

Have you tried running your system at stock speed?

It's always a possibility.

Yes, and I do not see how that could affect any of the problems I am having.

Also, there is only one annoyance left (so far). Every time I start Stalker Clear Sky, rather than the game starting full screened at 1440X900 as it should (and as it did prior to patching), it loads in a 600X400 window that can only be corrected by going straight to the Options menu and pressing 'Use'.

Any idea what is causing this?
