How do you feel about them vs porcelain-coated or cast iron? Do they release food as well as other materials?

Cast iron releases a small amount of iron into your food when you cook with it. Which can be a good thing.

Personally, I would go with cast iron.

If I'm cooking indoors I use cast iron but that's a skillet. For my grill outside I have porcelain coated cast iron grates. The reason I prefer porcelain for outdoor is it sticks less.
