"It seems life has stages...

College ends with the beginning of Grad School
Grad School ends with the beginning of Work
- Worked earns you money
- Money provides security for your significant other
- Money gets you a home and possessions
- Money pays for kids birth, growth, and education
Work ends with the beginning of Retirement
Retirement ends with death"

Without family the rest of that is meaningless.
