Does anyone have this Casecase and this Heatsinkcooler?

I have an ASUS M2N SLI DeluxeASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe and the Athlon 64 X2 6400+. I just began assembling them and discovered that the Ultra-120 Extreme sticks out too far and I cannot close the fan door (which holds 4 fans). The only solutions are: 1.) Remove the fan door or 2.) Cut the plastic on the fan door which would leave only 2 fans usable at the bottom. 3.) Find a shorter heat sink, 4.) Find a wider case, which I doubt there is one that will give me an additional 2 to 3 inches

The Stacker 830 has a fan at the back and a fan at the top, plus I attached a fan attached to the Ultra-120.

I'm unsure if the case would be cool enough without using those 4 fans if I don't OC, but I'd have to believe it wouldn't be cool enough for OCing.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that has the 830 and the Ultra-120 Extreme.

The results of not doing your homework first,,,,,
There are a multitude of cases that fit the u120.
Now that you have the stacker and I must assume you bought this because you liked it, why not make it work for you?
You say you have clearance w/o the side fans? Good, eliminate them, You don't need terminal velocity to OC bot you will want to block off the vents where the fans were in order for the others to work properly, ducting and control of the air is more efficient and important than than just adding "more".
It helps to think of air as liquid and imagine the flow, I have a Silverstone TJ-08 MATX case on water now but I did use the U-120 in originally. It had 1- 120 fan front and one rear, as this case is small the airflow was simple, in/ out I ducted the rear fan to my U-120 amd ODed to 3.4 no prob.
My point is this- You do not need nine fans to OC. (ten if you count the PSU)
Do some research and you'll be fine. I'm sure the Duck(t)master will visit your thread but in the meantime search the forum for "ducting"

You're correct, I didn't do my homework. I relied on Sharky Extreme and their "Extreme Gaming" recommendations for part of my computer. They liked the CM Stacker 830 Evo with the Ultra120 Extreme. So my guess is they never actually installed it themselves.

I am not sure if you have seen this case, but the case has holes it in everywhere. Removing the fan tray doesn't create more holes, the outer case door already has tons it in anywhere.

Is there a sticky somewhere that discuss this a bit more?

Geez, they put together a wish list and didn't mention that together the parts were incompatible. I want a 396 big-block and a Ferrarri, I think they'll look cool parked together.....:D

So, do you have clearance in the case w/o the top fan(s)?

Yeah, it's silly to think they'd actually recommend a configuration that isn't compatible. I suppose they probably should recommend an Intel CPU with the best available AMD Mobo.... Geez.

Clearance for what? The U120 is sticking out the side of the case. The top fan is way at the top - removing the fan is doable, but I'm not sure what it would help.

There are 4 fans on the fan tray, each fan fits into it's own slot and separating each fan is a divider.

If I remove the fans, the fan tray divider bumps into the Ultra120. If the CPU was located 1 to 1.25" closer to the I/O panel, the Ultra 120 would have fit into one of the spaces of a removed fan. If I use a hack saw and cut the divider out, the fan tray will most likely close properly, and I could still use the bottom two fans if I wanted to.

Now your understanding me, hack, butcher. measure carefully first to see that it will close after the operation, if you do start cutting I would suggest the purchase of a modeling saw with really fine teeth, not to chew it up too bad. Cover the unused fan holes w/ lexan or something similar to close the holes in the case. Direct the air to where is is needed and then exhaust. The clear plastic packaging used to wrap many items for retail sale is great for this purpose.
If cutting the case is rubs you the wrong way you could look into the smaller Thermalright, the 90 version might fit. Or even call Cooler master to see if you can buy a replacement "fan tray" in order to restore to original after the hack.
Making your own tray is another option.

I'm not sure if it makes a differance but I'm using the stacker 832 and the 120 xtreme with no issues. I just couldnt put in one fan, no modifications nessesary.
