Hi,
a friend of mine asked me to build him a new workstation for him on which he wants to do video editing. That I'll go with a FAST Athlon is clear, but I can't make my mind up on the board for it. Best thing would be a STABLE DDR board with onboard firewire and IDE raid so I can save the money for either a firewire controller or the IDE raid, the first one is absolutely needed for video editing, the second one can't hurt today in this area. So does anyone know of a mainboard with both features on board?

I think the K7t pro master has all of that,
but it's not DDR or 266fsb compatible.

Don't know if someone else has it.

Having said that, a firewire card is pretty inexpensive
and would eliminate some of the teething pains of
having it all integrated.

MSI's site only shows the K7T master http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detail_spec/K7_Master266.htm and it's SCSI version k7t master s. Both don't appear to support neither RAID nor firewire...

Firewire and RAID? hmmm, you might have trouble with the Firewire, but you can just get a good RAID mobo like Abit's KG7-RAID (It is DDR, but expensive at the time) and then buy a Firewire PCI card.
