Ok right now I got a p3-700@868 on a P3V4X. Running Win2k pro wiht sp1 patch and lastest leadtek video drivers. When I run 3dmark 2000 it will loop about 5 times then it just exits the program. I have run prime95 and rc5 thing for atleast a day each and no crashes. Usually when 3dmark2000 crashes my computer will eventually crash, but not all the time. Which program should I look to for testing stability?

3Dmark is not a good example always. I've had it bounce back to the desktop at default speed too. There is a patch for it, don't know if you downloaded it.
Try running seti@home and rc5 simultaneously. If you have a 700E that will do 868, but not 933, it's not the best core anyway, so you may need to try more voltage and or better cooling.

When I run seti@home and rc5, one takes all the cpu and the other does nothing. They don't both run equally. Is there a way to run them both equally?

at 124FSB, your video card is well out of spec. That could be a problem.

Try the same test running at 83MHz FSB (1/1 AGP) to stress the video system without stressing the CPU and memory. That will help you isloate the problem.

Running software only programs like RC5, Seti, Prime95, CPU Stability Test, etc., does not always cause my overclocked system to crash. I had my Cel. 566@850 running @ 1.80v and I could run RC5, Prime95, CPU Stability Test for days on end and it would never give me errors.

I even ran a Q3 demo loop for about a hour with no lockups or crashes.

But with UT being the overly CPU dependent game that it is, I could not even make it through one loop of the startup demo before it would give me a fault. Not a problem with my video card or RAM, I just had to bump the voltage up to 1.85v. Remember all the above programs (RC5,Prime95, etc.) would run fine.

Compuwiz is right about 3DM - I still get random crashes when using it too.

If you have UT, try running the default demo loop for 15-30 minutes or just try to play the game with several (6+) bots. If it hangs up continuously, then its not stable. If it does not, then I would say your system is good to go.

IaPuP: Well this is an TNT2 from my older system and I use to run that at 87 mhz bus with 1/1 AGP divider and it ran flawlessly. But I'll try what your saying just to try everything possible.

office boy: gotcha

blue weasel: I'll install my copy of unreal and try and see how that does.

Thanks to the four of you for your info. I'll get back to testing my computer now.
