Stability Issues

I'm having some serious problems booting up with my computer and I have no idea what to do.

I have a brand new: XFX 7900 GS and a new Fortron AX450-PN 450W power supply

I purchased a used DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D from one of my friends, which worked perfectly fine for him.

I took my old processor, RAM, hard drives, and optical drives from my old computer. The RAM is 2x512 Kingston Hyper-X 184-Pin DDR 400 (PC 3200) RAM that I've been using for awhile now. I don't know if it works or not because often my computer will crash or freeze while entering Memtest, but it worked in my old computer.

The processor is an AMD 64 3500+ with a stock fan on it.

The reason I purchased a new motherboard and video card is because I did really something stupid with my video card while my old computer was on, and it created sparks in my computer. When I tried booting up again, nothing would show on the screen (save some random letters or artifacts).

I've tried rebooting the CMOS and manually setting the RAM timings (I'm pretty sure I set it right).

My computer absolutely refuses to boot into Windows. Sometimes it'll get to the "pick your configuration" screen, like between safe mode and booting normally, and it will either freeze or bluescreen and then restart.

If I try to go into Memtest, as mentioned, it will either freeze during the tests, or artifact while starting the program. I speculate the problem is either the RAM or the processor, since the motherboard worked just fine for my friend.

Is there anything else I should consider? I'm considering buying new RAM, since I know that this board is supposed to be finicky with RAM. Also, I might've destroyed it somehow during the fiasco I had with my old computer. Can anyone help me?

If you need any other information, I'll try to answer as promptly as possible. Thanks for your time!

Your RAM, PSU or the 7900GS is the culprit. Is the RAM getting the correct voltage from the motherboard?

Thanks for your prompt reply! Yeah, the RAM's getting 2.66V, as it should. I don't really have any reason to suspect the 7900 GS or the PSU, but is there a way for me to figure out which one? Well, I've tried using my old PSU (It's only a 20 pin PSU, though) with the current configuration, and I encountered the same problems. So I bought a new PSU, and I still got the same problems, which led me to believe that it had nothing to do with the PSU.

So I guess it's either the RAM or the 7900GS? It really sucks that I can't run Memtest, but the 7900GS was retail, I don't think that it's been tampered with or anything...

What would you suggest I do?
