oh well

at least there's still stargate sg1 & atlantis, both of which i like better than enterprise. but it's sad to see another good/decent sci-fi show gone.

You people who are saying ent season 1 & 2 sucked but third was better: If they sucked so much why did you watch them? They obviously didn't suck enough that you couldn't still find the time to waste hours in front of the tv!

its startrek, take a deep deep look at ds9 which many people think are maybe the best series, soooo many episodes there were utter and total crap but still people watched and watched because they hoped that the next episoded was going to get better. This applies to all star trek series.

Actually, the reason DS9 was the BEST of all the series - even the first half (which was the better shows, IMHO), was because it targetted a "non-Trekkie" audience better than any series has to date.

"Sexing" it up to try to attract teenagers will fail. Either a teenager is a geek, and will likely watch whether it's "sexed up" or not (more likely 'not', as a geeks parents are USUALLY the hyper-conservative type and won't LET them watch anything 'too sexy'), or they are a jock, and WON'T watch it no matter HOW 'sexed up' it gets if it's SciFi.

What DS9 did was try to attract an older audience, and broaden the show to attract women viewers. How much of DS9 revolved around personal relationships? Indeed, you could argue that was the whole POINT of the show - each set of relationships.

DS9 had *characters* that were interesting. Individuals that seemed real, had real pasts, real feelings, real goals, etc. Believable characters, believable interactions, and believable relationships really made DS9 great.

It's not the YOUNGER audience these shows should be targetting, it's the OLDER audiences. And DS9 did that.

Since Enterprise is a UPN show, I'm surprised they didn't try to redeem it with a Star Trek: Enterprise: DUBs Edition, featuring gangster rappers, basketball players, and pimps, in space. Moesha, Shanaynay, and other UPN stars could make guest appearances. Only question is, would the chromed out warp drive be able to accomodate spinners?

yea i think upn is trying to lose its last non black viewers or something😛

You know it's all over when they do a "Pimp my Starship" episode 😀

Maybe SCIFI will pick it up and throw it on just before one of their other good shows.

Enterprise costs a lot of money to make. Each episode is practically movie quality in production values. I don't think Sci-Fi could afford Enteprise.

Plus, Sci-Fi is part of NBC Networks, and Trek is part of Paramount/CBS, so it just would not happen.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
🙁

I wanted them to last till the creation of the Federation and a showdown with the Romulans.

edit: too many O's

🙁:brokenheart:

How many more episodes would that require? I can't think of the time-line off the top of my head.

What's really a shame is that the series was only getting better. Unfortunately, the series was already discounted by many of those who only saw the first season.

They knew they needed a shot in the arm. The whole first season was "explaining" things. Although I liked it, it was a bit like watching future history the Discovery Channel. I hate to admit it, but once things started blowing up and people started dying I really got hooked.

About the opposite of DS9. I liked DS9 when it was all about who was there and why and their relationships. But once the "wars" started, I dropped DS9.

Kind of funny how that works. 😕
