Windows XP, running IE8 and Firefox 17 -

I ran into a site that gave an error:

I get a message that “This Connection is Untrusted”.
The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided

It works fine on IE on that same machine and on a windows 7 machine i tested it on, it also worked fine.

Any ideas why this would happen?!

Try latest version of Opera or Chrome?
Then if neither of those complain, assume that Firefox is in error.
If either does complain, decide whether the web site in question is risk-worthy.

Thanks everyone.

Works fine in opera too.

I ran the SSL checker and it said this:

The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. Learn more about this error. The fastest way to fix this problem is to contact your SSL provider.

I'll have to contact the people who issued it and see what they say.

Thank you again Killerbee for that link.
I found out that an intermediate certificate needed to be installed on the server, which then fixed the problem.
