we seem to be constantly battling tool problems here at work, something is always crashing for one reason or another. mostly you just ignore the error messages and rerun and the problem fixes itself. this am, however, the same problem kept reoccuring. so, we finally looked at the error message:

&&&& - bunch of gobbledygook
AssFail
&&&& - more gobbledygook

Now, that's my kind of error message!

BTW, the tool in question is the latest version of Synopsys VCS.

Gotta love stupid random sh!t like that. Back in the 70's, I worked in a heavy equipment sales & parts house. We were the local Komatsu dealer. One day, I was unpacking a huge stock shipment, and of course, checking everything in per the order sheets & invoices. I came across one item on the invoice that amused me...gave a 10 or so digit part number, listed "quantity 1, Item: FVCK"
EVERYONE got a big chuckle out of that. Even the factory rep thought it was funny as hell, but couldn't explain it...

Winamp also has stupid script errors like "guru meditation". Actually it originated from the Atari, I think.
