I needed help and won't be at my PC for the most part (Working out of town this weekend)so please bear with me.

I have to build or buy(2) ssf PC's as close to industrial quality as I can and still have them by thursday at the lattest.
Requirments:
steel case preferably
1 GHz intel or amd
256 Meg ram Min.
10 Gig HD Min
keyboard port
mouse port
2 usb ports
1 LPT
1 serial
1 VGA 15 pin. (onboard video please)
Space is critical

My normal provider of industrial PC's is 3 weeks out and I need 2 for a robotic cell next weekend.
CD is optional I have a "backpack" or maybe Nic if it is onboard.
Budget about $1100.00 each including win2000 or XP pro. I (you) should be able to find something desently rugged for that. I would prefer to see AMD just becouse I would like to see them make some inroad in the industrial market. They will be in a cabnet. ambeant temp summer 95 to 105 F so they need a good chipset. if you could be so kind please provide links.

Thanks in advance

OK... not sure if I can really help you but perhaps with a little more info I can give some pointers.

Firstly I would say that due to the high ambient temperature a normal commercial sff is not really a good option - although i don't have any info on this but I do assume that most of these little machines are designed for average room temperature (72° -74° F). Is a 19" rackmount possible? Budgetwise it certainly would be and for that environment it makes the most sense. A decent Antec 2U case with a 350W Psu and full ventilation runs for about 200$ The rest is just normal off the self stuff.

Here is the kicker though: What else is there in that environment? Is the air relatively clean or is there a large amount of dust and particles floating around? If the air is OK then only the temperature is a worry, if there is a large amount of dirt though a case with filters and what have you would be needed.

If it does have to be really small then choose a system that runs cool from the start. Kartajan made a good suggestion in that sense.

Let me make a suggestion aswell - assuming that a rackmount is too big and that other than temperature the environment is OK:
A microATX case (enermax makes a good one), fit every fan mount with a strong blower. Costs about 60$ This is NOT industrial grade by any means though!!!

the rest counts also for the rackmount solution:
ASUS "A7V400-MX" - 51$ - you want a mainboard with passive cooling! No Fan = One less thing that can go wrong! Onboard VGA and LAN
AMD Sempron 2200+ 1,5 GHz retail (Heatsink/Fan included) - 62$
512MB Kingston PC400 RAM Non ECC - 95$
Maxtor 40Gb HDD Model 6E040L0 - 46,79$
Any CD Rom drive - about 25$ to 30$
MS Windows 2000 pro or XP pro - both cost 145$ so it's your choice

All prices are from Newegg. Hope this helps a little.
