SSE not detected

I upgraded my K7-C 1.33ghz to 1600XP+, but the SSE on my XP processor is not detected. Someone told me that I have to re-install windows for it do be detected, but it's too much trouble. Can I enable SSE without reinstallation??? Thanks.
