I'm the owner of an Intel X-25m 160, and I'm very pleased with it. Everything opens up pretty much instantaneously.

So can someone explain to me how much more instantaneous these newer drives are?

I'm speaking for just daily average use and such, what would be the benefits of upgrading to a newer SF2200 drive or the new intel's?

No difference except large files transfers. A new gen SF could be 2x as fast in some sequential tasks.

If you don't have SATA 6gig it wouldn't even be worth it to upgrade to a SF2200 drive.

You have a great drive that's going to last you years. Use the Intel SSD Toolkit and enjoy it. Don't worry about the new drivers being a few milli seconds faster in a test here & there.
