SSD works in car but not in Windows or OSX

I got an Orico brand SSD drive for my car audio music. It's formatted to Fat32. It works fine in my car which I believe might be an Android based OS but not sure, it's a Pioneer.

I wanted to update some music on it but when I plugged it into my Macbook, it would not open. It will basically eject itself then try again and it just goes in this loop.
Windows 10 basically shows the same thing, it won't open the drive, it just ejects itself and tries over n over.

I have no way to even scan or fix the drive. Why would it work fine in my car but not either my laptop or desktop? I also tried my wife's laptop which is Windows 10 and it did the same thing.

This is my entire music library...I have a backup but it's missing a few albums where I didn't get around to updating it. It's not a total loss but obviously the drive still works fine....in the car. So what could I do to at least get data off of it if Windows won't read it?

How is it connected? USB? Is it getting enough power from the computers' USB ports?

yes usb. It should, my other backup USB hard drive works just fine. Plus I tried on 2 different laptops and my gaming desktop. Never any other USB issues with any of them. In the past I did have issues with my Macbook messing up hard drives to where Windows would say I need to scan and repair them...which it does but Windows isn't able to recognize this drive for some reason.

I can't remember how I originally formatted the drive but I think it was on my Macbook and pretty certain it's Fat32. I would normally assume the drive is broke however it works just fine in my car so either my car's HU somehow does something to it when it creates a database of what songs are on it or the drive itself has some kind of issue thats not effecting the head unit from reading it?

If I could get something to read the drive, I could copy it or format it. I might try a 3rd party formatting tool to see if it'll detect it.

When you say it ejects it what do you mean? Does it detect the drive in device manager? Does it show a partition and when you go to access it says it hasn't been formatted? Or does it as soon as you plug it in say that the drive is now ready to be unplugged?

Also what size is the drive?

It's a 128 GB SSD drive. On mac I get a warning saying the disk was not ejected properly even though I just plugged it in. It'll show up in File manager under Devices and if I click on it, it's a blank screen. If I try to manually eject it, I get an error 86 of some sort. But after maybe 20 seconds it ejects itself as if I unplugged it, then it pops back up on Devices again and just keeps doing that over and over.

Basically the same thing in Windows. It won't even let me format or show information, it's like it detects the drive and reads the drive's name but can't continue with the handshake so it gives up and tries again. The HD light is blinking rapidly as if it's being read.

I plugged it back into my car...works perfect, reads and plays songs like nothing is wrong. I don't get it at all. It used to work just fine and I would transfer songs to it no problem, it's been at least a month since I last updated my songs with it.

I'm going to order a USB flash drive and use my last backup. Most of my songs that weren't backed up, I was able to redownload so it's not a total loss but it's certainly a very weird issue. I would prefer to know why this is happening if nothing else then just for general knowledge.

Are you plugging directly into their usb ports or are you using a hub? If the latter try going directly into one of the ports and see if it makes a difference.
