Is the process for installing windows on an SSD the same as a HDD, straight forward? I'm doing a brand new build and I am assuming that I only need to pop in the windows 7 CD and click install? The only data I am keeping from my old PC are the pictures and videos that I have installed on a separate HDD, so my SSD will only contain windows. Sounds good?

Yes (also, turn on AHCI). Just to make things easier/safer, though, only have the ODD and SSD connected when you install, then hook up the HDD afterwards.

I think everything will go as expected if the SSD is on the 1st SATA port, but sometimes Windows will put the special system partition and/or bootloader on a different drive than the install target, for some reason, so it's best to just not hook up any additional drives until after it is installed.
