I want to build my hackintosh.

I want to put OS and programs on separate HDD.

all say SSD is fast,

What exactly are all differences putting OS and programs in SSD or WD 2tb sata internal HDD 7200 rpm ?

Thanks

Huge difference! If you want to relate it to cars then you've got the 2tb 7200rpm drive that's like a minivan. Lots of room, decent enough speed but not fast. The ssd is like a corvette. Very fast, but not near as much room. And costs a bit more.

I was a skeptic until a couple years ago. Now prices are even more reasonable. It is simply night and day. Once you use one you'll never go back. It even made my 5 year old laptop with a core 2 duo and 4gb of ram feel nearly new again. Something to be said for 20-30 second boot up.
