I'm looking to replace the HDD in my current laptop with an SSD and I'm wondering if I'll still see a significant performance increase given that the CPU (i3-2310M) isn't the hottest. Will performance still be CPU bound? The laptop is mostly used for gaming, although faster boot times are always welcome. Furthermore, assuming I'll see a decent performance increase, how the heck do I pick one? I'm looking at 128GB models and they all seem to be within $10 of each other with no significant performance difference. Here's what I'm looking at:
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=70079&vpn=ASX900S3-128GM-C&manufacture=AData Technology&promoid=1307
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=70354&vpn=SH103S3/120G&manufacture=Kingston&promoid=1307
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=78078&vpn=SV300S37A/120G&manufacture=Kingston&promoid=1307
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=86828&vpn=ST120HM000&manufacture=Seagate&promoid=1307
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=81654&vpn=CT120M500SSD1&manufacture=CRUCIAL TECHNOLOGY&promoid=1307
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=77210...facture=Samsung Memory & Storage&promoid=1307
As far as I know, I could pick any of these and get similar performance, is that correct? Should I just get the cheapest one and save the $10? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
