You guys do well with being in the know of up-and-coming technologies.

It's been some time since we've visited the SSD topics. I'm curious if you have heard of any improvements in the sector.

Is there any buzz on any manufactures adopting Intel-like controllers? Or any information on the Intel extreme drives, getting ready to be released?

I appreciate information anyone may spread.

Thank you,

a large portion of the AT "articles" lately seem to be buzz. I think we'd have heard if there was something near term in the pipe.

Generally what happens is that they hear something, they get a product, either by purchase or the manufacture gives them a pre-release, they test it. They check their tests, then they write the article.

Generally, their blogs are less about the hear-say and more about what they've seen somewhere, like a conference, or tested themselves. So, I was hoping that either they're in the middle of testing, or have heard of a comparable product to the Intel M25, that's not an SLC. Or maybe just have news I haven't seen, that they've already talked about. Like possibly, OCZs v2 MLCs that have the upgrade port, can actually be upgraded to perform like an Intel? I don't know.

nothing is comparable to the intel M25.... I am guessing it will not be long before we see some benchmarks of the SLC version.
And I am sure other manufacturers would love to adopt intels controller, if intel would allow them, and I don't see that happening.

Did I hear correctly that the Intel drives are also going to be marketed under the Kingston brand??

i have seen them marketed under intel brand thus far, so unless they are selling them to kingston to rebadge and sell then i doubt it.
