SSD speed up game installs?

Just curious - will an SSD speed up installing games or other programs being installed from a DVD drive? Or is reading from a DVD still the bottleneck?

not much probably about that, you can be sure of that.
Only if the installation does some heavy IO stuff (like precompiling sharders or somesuch) will you see a possible gain from an SSD.

Loading times when running the game should be lower tho.
 
Yea much lower, especially when loading small files into memory/page.

My SSD has been the best upgrade ever, get it 🙂
