Hey Gang, I was wondering, Would a SSD and SSHD setup be even faster?, Instead of using a Standard HDD?

Thanks :D

Both are faster than a traditional HDD. SSD is better than a hybrid drive.
SSD > Hybrid > HDD

You will get faster boot times, faster reads/writes, and most important, very fast seek times. You will never want to go back to a HHD after an SSD.

If you budget allows, just get a large enough SSD. If it doesn't, you will notice a small difference with the hybrid over hard drive for extra storage, depending mostly on what you have on the drive (apps vs data files).

I have slowly accumulated a few 60GB SSDs with a thought to using them as cache drives for large HDDs. I've been experimenting with Romex Primo-Cache for that purpose, and it seems to be proving itself worthy. This means I can configure workstations in AHCI-mode, forget about ISRT and RAID-mode, and essentially get the same thing or better. Primo doesn't have a 60GB limitation on the cache drive's size. But a 60GB cache works well enough.

I have been using a mechanical Seagate 160GB for almost two weeks now and the boot times suck (coming from sleep mode is okay). The seek times are way bad compared to an SSD, for example when you want to open a program or search for something in the disk. I understand that the disk is old and cannot be compared to a half/1TB disk that would normally be used by someone without an SSD.
