SSD question for new build

Hi guys,

I'm starting a new sandy bridge build, to upgrade from my old E6600. I'm considering an SSD 120G (vertex 3), I've been living with a 160 gig hard drive for close to 5 years, although it's a little tight, I've been able to manage.

I know most people have a SSD + HHD setup,
my question is; is it a bad idea to have to have the SSD as my only drive, My uses include a little gaming, net surfing, torrent downloading, music and movies, a little movie editing.

would I severly reduce the life of the SSD drive by using it as my only drive

Thanks for your responses

AFAIK, you only reduce the lifespan of an SSD by writing data to it. If all you're doing is reading files with it, you should be fine.

If it were me, I would pick up a HDD to go along with it. I've been seeing 2tb drives go for $70 which is a nice price.
