SSD problem installing OS from a backup

I have Acronis true image home and have saved a backup of the SSD in question to another hard disk. I am attempting to restore the backup with the drive that has the .tib on USB 3 and image home does not recognize my SSD either when it is on USB 2 or on the SATA controller.
Any ideas?
