Ssd prices dropping like a rock!

for years 256gig ssd's prices were steady.
they were like $75 3years ago, and maybe dropping $5/yr.

then all of a sudden in the last couple of months, ssd prices DROPPED big time.
now you can find a 500gig ssd for $55!

I wonder how long until it becomes viable for servers and storage systems.

They're being used in high-performance servers. It won't be anytime soon that they replace the 100TB of HDD space that the average 22 year old keeps on his home server for porn and pirated movies.
