SSD Partitioning, Good or Bad

I have partitioned both of my SSDs -purpose to facilitate syncing with desktop - no noticeable effects.

I was just wondering if the drive leveling software works across partitions or is it confined to its own partition?

No idea what you mean by that.
Each partition gets a drive letter.

If you mean the SSD's logic, it don't care how the data is on the SSD itself.

TRIM and Garbage Collection work in all partitions of my SSD.

Drives don't know anything about partitions, so the wear leveling applies across partitions. Wear leveling is at the block level.

There is no reason not to partition an SSD drive except it is less flexible in terms of space.

Ok so no down side to partitioning. Maybe I am old school and stupid but I like having the OS in a separate easily restored partition from the data.

While it may be old school, there is nothing stupid about that.
