SSD - partition or not to partition

So, I got a Samsung 840 Pro SSD (256gb), and I am wondering whether I should partition it as I have do always with the regular hard drive.

Partition C for Windows 7 & apps, partition X for my data.
Since this is an SSD and it is much faster than a regular drive, I figured to just have one partition.

Any input is appreciated.

Partitioning is however extremely useful in separating Operating systems.

SSD just puts data anywhere that it has free space (not where the partition thinks it has).

Well, it is easier to backup & restore a smaller partition, especially a OS drive.

Seeing at is it only a 256GB drive, I would only do it if you have multiple OSes like was mentioned.

Tough call, and probably depends on how much stuff you put on the OS partition. I partitioned 256GB SSD on my work computer, with 150GB for the OS and all my development environments, and my actual "work" files on the rest of the drive.
