SSD or HDD for torrents?

Just wondering which would be more appropriate?

I download (and upload) lots of Linux ISOs off of DistroWatch. Currently using an Intel 80GB X25-M G2 SSD for my Linux Mint install, and my torrent storage.

But I'm running out of room, so I was wondering about adding a 1TB HDD. Would it be better to put the torrent files on the HDD? Or would that be stressful for it, and / or slow down my torrents? I have 92Mbit/sec upload.

I store all of the ISOs ultimately on my network server. I don't leave every single one I download seeding forever. (Can you?) Just the recent ones. (Debian 8.1, Linux Mint 17.2, currently.)

To be honest that should be no problem. Just look at a slower drive like the WD Green. In worst case random reads is around 23MB/sec

That MB vs Mbit of your upload. So Translated thats 184Mbit/sec
So in theory at least that should be more then enough.

Only when your talking about +Gbit connections should you consider SSD

What he said on a home internet connection a 10-15 year old Pata drive is going to be faster than download speed/upload speed. Torrent activity is the exact type of server that HDD strong point are.
