I used to use HDD Nuke but I'm wondering if such a program is bad for an SSD...

What is the best way to reasonably clean the SSD?
Thanks

Good question.

I've read that people flashing new firmware to their ssd's ended up with like new drives and had to re-install. So.......flash it?

Sorry to respond not knowing any better but I'm kind of interested too.

If you can boot from a DOS CD, find a copy of HDDErase and use that. Search this forum, you'll find details.

wow I had a hard time creating a DOS bootable disk so I gave up and full formatted the drives a few times in raid mode and in single mode. ALso changed the file system a few times for good measure :)

Format does not remove data. Not even a full format. Hope you didn't have anything you are concerned about on the drive. Most people are not going to look for data on a drive they think is blank anyway. Blame MS for their crappy implementation of formatting.
Easiest way to erase the data without external programs, is to copy files to the drive you don't care if anyone sees , till the drive is full, then delete them. If they try to recover the drive all they will get is the last files you put on there.

I should be ok. I remembered that all I had was games. The IE cache was on a separate drive

Thanks all for the help.

BTW, what is a simple Zero fill app? preferably that can run within windows.
