I know many people prefer cheap/free solutions (or none at all) when mounting an SSD. But for those looking for an elegant solution, I'd like to share a pictorial of this accessory..
I was going to use this cheapo bracket from Microcenter. Turned out to be a poorly machined piece of garbage. No HD mounting screws would fit the holes. I ended up stripping a few and have since return it.
Meet the Icy Dock 2.5" to 3.5" enclosure
It opens gracefully to reveal a screwless mounting tray
It features a built-in data/power connector. Simply drop the SSD in
As you close the top, the SSD moves forward to make the connections
You then treat it like a regular 3.5" HD
The enclosure is well ventillated, not that heat is a concern. Quality, fit, and finish are excellent, right down to the brass HD screw holes. For those looking for an elegant solution, consider the Icy Dock. Newegg has been giving the enclosure away with select drives. Otherwise, it's at the Egg for $19 bucks
