SSD Mechanical size

Hi,

I'm designing a new product for SSDs in 2.5" form factor. Could you please point me to a specification of the mechanical dimensions of 2.5" SATA disks?

I have found more or less rough drawings at various manufacturer sites, but a proper spec would be much better.

Not all 2.5" disks possess identical proper specs.

I know, so trusting a more or less random disk found online isn't a good approach when making a generic product.

What I can say it that it presents itself mechanically and electrically as a 2.5" SATA disk. The inside does have a few special properties which I'm happy to show when the product goes public.

I did find this one: ftp://ftp.seagate.com/sff/SFF-8201.PDF, and it's a good start. But what it doesn't say is how high up the SATA connector stands inside the disk. We're finalizing the mechanical design and need to know we're inside specs on the connector side.

Not to sound flip, but why don't you contact the supporting committee listed in that memo? Or, if all else fails, buy a few examples and draw off the dimensions of the actual item you intend to substitute?

I believe the specs in question are handled by the SFF committee and SATA-I😵rg.
