SSD + Junction Points

In Windows XP, if I create a junction point to an empty folder on a slow hard drive (5400rpm) that points to files located on a fast SSD drive will this impact performance in any way?

No files will be stored in the 5400rmp drive's folder and no read/writes will be done to it, *BUT* to get to the SSD drive all read/writes must go through the junction point located on the 5400rpm drive.
