Every other boot Windows 10 tries to repair it. Freezes for like 10-15 sec trying to open apps..I'm getting a new one tomorrow..My question is can I hook up the new and do a system image to get Win10 off of it from the old?..Its a Win7 upgrade from last winter..So I never had a physical copy of 10...Thanks

You can try, it depends on if any of the files end up being corrupted since your old drive is in the process of dying.

If it doesn't work, you can reinstall Windows 10. It should activate, but if for some reason it doesn't activate online, you might have to call in and get a installation ID.

You can also do it this way if needed:

Edit

Actually, using your Windows 7 key probably won't work. Follow this guide instead:

10 makes it very easy, the activation is tied to the motherboard. A fresh install of the same edition will auto activate as soon as it's connected to the internet. The drive its installed on doesn't seem to matter.
