SSD in an external enclosure?

I have an Intel X25-M 80GB G1 laying around. I have 2 options:

1) Put it in an external enclosure with USB 3.0 or eSATA. Not really sure what I would do with it since I already have 2 x 1TB and a 500GB 2.5 WD Passport. Also, the only machine with USB 3.0 is my laptop but I do like the backward USB 2.0 support.

2) Try one of those SATA to IDE adaptor and put it in an old Dell Pentium 4 machine for my sister in law.

Anyone done any of the 2 options I mentioned?

I went with option 1. Got my Coolmax USB 3.0 enclosure today. Speed is unbelieveable especially from read, as it should from an SSD.
