Hey guys,
I just installed the Kingston v+ 100 (64gb) ssd. I've noticed a few things about it.
1.) I notice slight hangs occasionally. What's interesting is when I notice a hang, I'll see (by hdd indicator) that there is no ssd activity. When the indicator starts flashing again, the system stops hanging. Usually these hangs last about a second.
2.) multitasking (heavy file transfer) seems to be slower than my old hdd. Once, I had windows update installing stuff and I was simultaneously installing another app. The app stalled for about 5 minutes before it finished (windows update was installing sp1)
3.) certain functions that involve heave read/write tasks take years to complete. I have tuneup utilities on my computer, and when I'm deleting windows update backups, it looked like it was going to take days. What's really weird is I tried multiple times and same thing, yet when I delete other things (like windows system restore backups) there's no problem. Which makes me think that's application specific.
Anyway, can anyone shed light on this problem? Is it normal or ssd trouble?
My rig setup:
AMD Phenom X2
4gb corsair RAM
nVidia geForce 9800 gtx+
MSI 785gtm-e45 mobo
All windows updates, chipset& other drivers installed
Ssd configured to use AHCI (TRIM is on...that verifies AHCI is turned on..right?)
Many thanks guys, these forums have saved my ass so many times.
