I am looking to add a SSD to an older system. I have upgraded the RAM to 8GB which has helped. The processor is a E8400. I am looking to replace a 7200 rpm Western Digital drive with a SSD.

I am looking at various Samsung SSD's and would appreciate any recommendations for a 500GB drive.

Thanks!

Probably best thing to do would be to just buy an 850 Evo, or a WD blue / Crucial and save some money. That and put a quad in it, grab a used Q6600 or Q9550 or similar.

Alternative option: OCZ TR150 and SanDisk SSD Plus. Only buy this if you find them much cheaper than Samsung's or Crucial's.
