SSD for Aspire 7738G

Hello 🙂
as the title says, I have a Aspire 7738G laptop that I'm thinking about putting a SSD in, atm it just have the standart 500gb HDD, but atm I feel it's impossible to pick the right SSD, I would like a SSD between 120 and 240ish GB, but every SSD atm seems to have trouble. OCZ is failing left and right, intel is getting reduced to 8mb when something screw up. and the prices in Denmark on SSDs are jumping all over the place atm, up to 15% from week to week o.0... I could buy from amazon.co.uk but in case of an SSD fail, I rather buy within the country (I use www.edbpriser.dk to look up prices in DK). any good advice?

and can I get imput from people who have put a SSD in their laptop? have you felt a good improvement or isnt it worth it?

btw. I use win7

ok, leaning on the M4 for now, although I'm really having trouble finding out if its worth the money or not, but new hardware is just so damn tempting 😉 anyone have experiance with the type of laptop i got and an SSD?

When I swapped my laptop drive to a SSD is was like night and day. Laptop drives are so damn slow!

Funny thing is I used the Lenovo restore media to install to the SSD. Even with the bloatware installed it's very responsive. Shaved about 30seconds off the boot time at least 🙂

I think I get the sammy, everyone seems really happy about it, and haven't been able to find any problems with it, I just wonder if 128gb will be enough, it would be enough for my main computer because of the option of normal HDDs for crap, but on my laptop I don't have that choice, my gf plays all the sims on in, so that's about 60gb gone already there (yea.. she has a ton of content installed...), but since there is no 160gb sammy and a 240gb is a bit too pricy, I guess I have to learn to be careful on what is installed on it 🙂

Not sure if you can find the parts anymore or if they are even still available but it's possible to add a second hard drive to your laptop.

Here's a guide that looks to be pretty detailed to me 🙂

I know some makes and models also have the option of swapping the dvd for a hard drive caddy. Might be another option for you also.

Might be worth some more google searching to see what your options are.
