SSD dying?

Hi guys. I have a Samsung 840 120gb SSD. I've noticed lately that it's been acting up; IDK if it's normal SSD behavior at all. It changed the download directory of my downloading program (creating some weird folder), changed some game graphics settings, and it suddenly invalidated Windows 7 (I had to call in in order to re-authenticate Windows).

The Samsung Magician software says that the drive is still in "Good" condition with 1.23tb written to it. So, I'm confused as to whether or not it's really dying...

If there is something wrong, it's with your OS. An SSD doesn't change data on its own as all commands come from the host (i.e. OS). I would run a full virus scan to make sure there is nothing malicious harming your computer.

I cannot tell you exactly what caused those changes, but I can tell you for sure that it was not the SSD. I second Hellhammer, you probably have malware of some kind on your system.

I did a full virus scan and had one trojan crap. I removed it and now everything seems to be okay. Well that explains this time, but I also noticed a bit of inconsistency a long time ago. And, I notice the same little inconsistency in my laptop's SSD too. That's why I'm looking towards a 10,000 RPM WD VelociRaptor now, or an SSHD.

Oh, and I bought and used the legitimate Windows 7 Home 64-bit on a DVD.
