Picked up an ADATA Gammix S7 2TB NVME SSD from Best Buy while it was on super sale for like $200. It took me a while, but I finally installed it in my laptop (Dell G15 Ryzen). I was all excited until the drive wasn't recognized in Windows 10 or by the BIOS. I tried updating BIOS/drivers to no avail, and even bought an external USB enclosure to see if that would help. Nothing.

By the time all this happened, my return period at BB was over.
I tried RMA'ing the SSD to ADATA, but because it didn't have a warranty sticker on it (I don't recall seeing one), they wouldn't warranty it. Despite me sending it in the original box.

In the meantime, I read about trying to use Linux to detect the drive. I booted into a live Ubuntu and the SSD wasn't detected either as a USB drive or directly installed in my laptop.

So I ordered a new SSD (Samsung 970, which will hopefully work) but I'm wondering if there's anything else i can do to try and salvage this 2TB drive, or if anyone here is a wizard at SSD repair? Or am I just SOL?

Thanks!

It sounds like you did your due dillegence in trying to get it to work. You could try something like parted magic, which is more designed specifically for drive management/utility, but I doubt that would help much. You could try a different computer possibly, to see if it was just incompatible with the Dell laptop for whatever reason. Aside from that, how did you purchase it? If you used a credit card, many of those have extended warranty and at very least buyer protection. I would contact them for help.

I thought that there was some court ruling, that those "warranty void if removed" stickers, had no legal force.

Look it up. Something to do with warranty stickers and the magnesson-moss warranty act.
