SSD decision for Htpc machine

exactly my point. everyone should have two drive already, and almost every case can accommodate a 2nd ssd even if not designed to. you should have one os drive and one storage (optional) drive.

120gb is an excellent os drive size right now. and 120gb ssd's add less then $100 to your system. if you cant afford that then just keep telling yourself its ok 'because its an htpc'. forget the fact it still runs full blown windows and all...

Exactly correct. Even a 64GB is a fine size for HTPC duties and you can get one for about $60-$70 pretty easily if you look around.

How much is a "small" mechanical hard drive? About the same or even more. So why not get a SSD?
