Hello I am in the market for an SSD drive and I have it narrowed down to 2... I think

OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I am a gamer so I wanted something with more space that is speedy. Are my 2 choices good ones? Which gives me an edge? I have an older MB so I don't know if I need a controller to run the Crucial or not? Thanks for your help

Those two are top tier. As for which will give you the edge, you'll have to google for SSD gaming benches to answer that. Your MB is fine. However you do have 4GB of RAM, I'm unsure what games you play, but I would upgrade to more, hardcore 3D PC games these days seen to thrive with more RAM and that's where you'll probably see more difference from your money spent. However, again... google around for gaming benches that focus on amount of RAM. Have fun.

Hi razel,

Thanks for the update I have added another 4 gig of RAM to my system a few months back for a total of 8GB now.

I was concerned with the drives as the Crucial has a slower write speed than OCZ, but I hear OCZ aren't as reliable. I guess for gaming which would be better, or is there another drive that works better for my needs?

Thanks,

Not to side track this discussion, but when I clicked on either link in the OP, I got:

secure_dns_warning.gif

Disregarding the Comodo warning and proceeding, I was taken to the newegg.com home page and not a product page. I proceeded after I googled the URL and saw no imminent danger.
