SSD Caching

Can someone give me a brief explanation on this? This is a feature that to my understanding will be on the Z68s but will not be on the other two sandy bridge boards ever.

The concept I think is to allow SSD speed off of mechanical drives, but I don't understand how it's done. Meaning, will I need to leave X (or all) amount of space empty on my own SSD drive and just keep everything on the mechanical but still get SSD speeds? Is the SSD cache going to physically be on the motherboard so I wouldn't need an SSD at all?

Is this concept worth waiting for if my target time to build a gaming computer is in April. (I won't be building one before then)
 
it's basically one later :/C for SSD an HDD,with SSD caching capability is highly connected with Intel's Rapid Storage Technology, integrating a conventional hard drive to a relatively small solid-state drive (SSD), with the most frequently-accessed data automatically placed on the SSD for fast access while the two drives appear to users simply as a single drive.
BTW don't think this is going to be implemented in first Z68 MB's
